It's difficult to remember there's a bright side, or that it takes all kinds of people to make the world what it is, when an outing that was anticipated turns out flat because of a number of drunk, douchebaggy individuals. Of course, it's impossible to not react when your personal space is repeatedly infringed upon, and that irritation certainly can lead to eye-rolling at the public display of eternal frat boy behavior that ultimately accompanies too much alcohol.
Okay, so not everyone who ventures out for a night on the town turns into a dick. There nearly always seem to be that particularly annoying variety of people at concerts. The unfortunate thing is it isn't always easy to avoid finding yourself in close proximity to them. So how exactly does one avoid taking away negativity and lingering contempt for behavior that doesn't really have to have any impact at all?
It isn't always easy. Sometimes you have to go through the irritating emotions in order to figure out exactly how to avoid feeling them. Like why does someone else's actions, that have little to nothing to do with you, get under your skin to begin with? It isn't likely that the answer will eliminate the urge to shake your head at similar things in the future, but being aware can make the difference between a momentary reaction and a full-blown, negative takeover.
I'm getting better at this.
