I want change, even though it scares me at times. In order for changes to occur in life, there has to be an upside and downside. Even when the changes aren't necessarily for the better and what is lost or left behind is missed, the most important thing is the manner in which a person continues to move forward. Like most of us, losing the people we care about seems unbearable. The worst thing anyone can do is let the grief take over as though life has stopped indefinitely. The hardest thing is to push on and keep going through the pain, but what better way to carry those who have left with us then by showing our resolve and strength - to be the living example of the effect that person had on our life.
There are gifts we are lavished with through varied relationships have the amazing capacity to spread to people beyond the giver and the receiver. Knowledge, experience, humor and love given to one person, can produce ripple effects, even long after the giver has left this world. If we stopped living in the wake of mourning, we snuff out the essence of the person who has died. However difficult it may be, sharing those gifts we have been given with the world around us is the best way to honor our lost loved ones and keep their spirit with us.
It isn't enough to just remember, we need to share and continue on.
