Be Your Own Cheering Sections

I love watching my cat attempt to maneuver himself into the smallest spots between my son and I on the couch. He's determined to be involved in lounging about, no matter how big he is or how much his body overflows across legs, arms or feet. Positive attitude in every cell of that 16lb+ body.

Ok, so maybe it's just that he doesn't really understand failure like people do. I still think there is something to having a 'no fail' approach to life. It's impossible to never think of all the reasons you could fail, all the things that could go wrong...there's always a fair supply of excuses to never try.

If everything was left up to timing, the stars aligning, and the perfect storm, we'd never live much during our time here. There is certainly something to seizing moments as they present themselves without hesitating to weigh every possible outcome. Fear is a crafty thief, why make it any easier by giving in to self-doubt?

Want to squash negative interference within yourself? Every day try something you haven't before. When you recognize thoughts that aren't positive or encouraging, change them. Celebrate even the smallest successes; parallel parking the first try is impressive and moving your workout up in difficulty is too. There are two versions of every situation, and it seems far more beneficial all around to choose the one that encouraging. Far more can be accomplished when you feel empowered.
