Disposing of expectations can be the key to enjoying life. Certainly it's good to set expectations and goals, but not everything has to be defined the moment it crosses our paths. Tough as it might be sometimes, our focus may well be better suited on the experience and not the destination.
This is something that has never been easy for me, and even with all the positive changes it still takes a lot of work to move beyond expectations. Half the battle is realizing it, I suppose. So it appears I'm not a completely hopeless case.
I'm fairly certain there is no foolproof strategy for staying clear of muddying thoughts, much like anything in life. It is likely, however, that continuing to be open to perception beyond previous experience may just be the most helpful approach. That's the one I'm trying out anyway.
